To design the wedding around the theme of “A Mid Summer Night’s Dream”. There would be 250 guests with drinks reception on the lawn before making their way down over a ha-ha to the main dining tent. There needed to be space for a main circular bar to the side of dinning and a separate dancefloor with large outdoor stage for the bands and DJ. Finally it all had to fit within a constrained site, a paddock at the bottom of the garden flanked by a river on one side and the ha-ha on the other side.
We started by mapping the site, and using CAD, we mapped out the structures, stages and catering requirement. From this we were able to ascertain that we could fit the marquees, band stage, dancefloor, toilets and outdoor cocktail bars with the guest numbers. The Bride had a clear vision of what she wanted which helped enormously choosing the theming and lighting design and working with the florist and caterer we looked at how to transform the paddock into a Mid Summer Night’s Dream fit for the Beautiful Bride.
Guests arrived for a champagne reception on the terrace lawn and then made their way down over the ha-ha via a set of custom steps into the stunning stretched marquee with an inverted floral carpet running down the center of the roof. Wireless Uplighters in white enhanced the circumference and central poles while a ceiling break up wash provided a subtle backdrop to the table and ceiling floral displays.
After dinner guests moved through to the separate dance floor marquee connected to the outdoor stage, stopping on the way to collect drinks from the 14ft circular themed bar.
Bamboo flairs and hessian walkways created pathways to the toilets, bars and outdoor seating.
